Movie: Salaam-E-Ishq: ~~~Truly ~~ Sixer ~~~

Sometimes we are not at all living in reality and are far away from Truth, sometimes we are living in reality and are quite near to Truth but start running from it, sometimes we believe in ourselves so much that we spend whole life in giving selflessly for the one we love (but keep seeking the one we love), sometimes we loose patience and leave or forget the one we love and sometimes we not. Sometimes we don’t understand what we want in life and don’t dare to understand too Sometimes we misunderstand our dreams and start running opposite to what we want in life. This is what the movie is all about!
The Pairs, to-be Pairs and PeersJohn Abraham – Vidya Balan (Ashutosh Raina  - Tehzeeb Hussain Raina)
Govinda- Shannon Esrechowitz (Raju – Stephanie)
Suhail Khan- Isha Koppikar (Ramdayal – Phoolwati)
Akshay Khanna-Ayesha Takia (Shiven Dungarpur - Jia Bakshi)
Anil Kapoor-Juhi Chawla (Vinay Malhotra - Seema Bakshi Malhotra)
Salman Khan-Priyanka Chopra (Rahul – Kkamini)
And the non-PairsAnjana Sukhani – Anjali
Tinu Anand – Kkamini’s Manager
Prem Chopra - Maj. Gen. Bakshi (Seema and Jia’s Father)
Saurabh Shukla – Marriage.com
Kamini Khanna -  Pammi Chaddha
Manoj Pahwa -  Surjit Chaddha
Kushal Punjabi – Rohit (Chaddha’s son)

Movie is from the producers (Sunil Manchanda, Mukesh Talreja and Nikhil Advani) and director (Nikhil Advani), the same team that delivered “KHNH – Kal Ho Na Ho” and both the movies are crisp, to the point, outstanding and perfect in terms of story (Nikhil Advani), screenplay (Nikhil Advani, Saurabh Shukla and Suresh Nair), dialogues (Saurabh Shukla), acting, lyrics (Sameer), music (Shankar Mahadevan, Ehsaan Noorani and Loy Mendonca), Cinematography (Piyush Shah) and choreography (Bosco and Caesar). All songs are fanstastic especially the title song (sung by Adnan Sami, Shilpa Rao, Shankar Mahadevan, Loy Mendonca, Shaan, Nihira Joshi, Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghosal, Kunal Ganjawala, Sadhna Sargam, Mahalakshmi Iyer and Kailash Kher). This is a classic combo pack of six movies (or stories) in one.

Jodi No. 1: The boy is Kashmiri Hindi Brahmin and the girl is Muslim. This is a love marriage. Boy’s father is totally against this marriage. The couple is in true love with each other as they believe not in cast or religion but only in Love. Both work in the same News Channel and girl is covering inauguration of a new luxury train meant mainly for couples. Train meets with a major accident, girl is badly hurt, and  there is a data loss of one part of brain, so girl remembers only her pre-marriage life. She does not recognize her hubby. Hubby does everything to remind her that they are married for last many years but all in vain. The girl is convinced that they are married but is frustrated that she does not remember anything about it. And then there is a steep turn when boy tell the girl – “so what if you don’t remember anything, let us start afresh and generate new set of sweet memories”.
This is Ashutosh Raina and Tehzeeb Hussain Raina – an excellent piece of work done by both of them.
Jodi No. 2: This guy is a taxi driver who dreams of a girl coming from some foreign country to whom he will fall in love. For this waiting and to make his dream come true he is at the verge of crossing his marriageable age but is firm about his dream. the girl come from Canada, in search of her boyfriend, who is about to ditch her and marry another girl. The girl has to go to Taj Hotel but instead by mistake the taxi driver takes her to Taj Mahal. The boy does not understand English and the girl does not understand Hindi but both ultimately understand each other’s heart but later. Right now the boy is doing all his best efforts to search out girl’s boyfriend and get them married. The girl ultimately realizes that the boy for whom she has come from Canada does not love her and the boy who is helping her to find out her love is deeply in love with her. Love begets Love and finally the taxi driver’s dream comes true.
This is Govinda and Shannon – and the acting done by both could not be handled so beautifully by any other performer.
Jodi No. 3: The boy is Jat and is married to a Jatni recently. Right from first night the boy tries to love his wife, he does something funny and the attempt goes hay wired. But ultimately even out of comedy the boy suceeds.
This is Suhail and Isha – the comedy is superb, although they were not in the mainstream story but without salt even the best of vegetable is tasteless.
Jodi No. 4: The boy is always in doldrums whether he loves this girl or not, perhaps he fears to live married life as he thinks many absurdities that the girl will become fat, he will loose his independence etc. The girl is pretty clear about her love towards this boy but boy out of his fears ditches her many times when they are fixed to get engaged and married. But ultimately, thanks to Jodi no. 1, he realizes that he is really in love with this girl and reaches right in time to break the ongoing marriage of girl with the boy from Canada and declare his love towards her. They finally get married.
This is Akshay Khanna and Ayesha Takia – Both are although not established in performing excellent in acting so far in any of their previous movies but still they perform their best
Jodi No. 5: The boy is a man of 40, having a cute wife and two beautiful kids, having a well established career but starts missing something in his life. He wants some excitement other than his routine office and home life. The boy falls in love with a girl (but was that love?), many years younger than him and both start moving away from reality of life. But finally this man realizes that the fact of life is his wife, his kids, and his own life, and thus moves his steps back from his new love.
This is Anil Kapoor and Juhi Chawla – performance excellent including their kids. And equally good is the performance of Anjali (the girl who persuades her that he loves her)
Jodi No. 6: This is the lead jodi of this movie. The boy works in a small restaurant cum bar where the girl dances. Girl has a big dream of transforming into a tragedy queen from a item number girl and for that she ploys and uses boy to achieve her target. The boy has become a big shot and helps girl to achieve her dreams although he loves her from their early small time days. Girl is unaware of boy’s love and is running towards her goal and all of a sudden she realizes the gravity of love that boy is carrying towards her.
This is Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra - perfomed excellent

The movie is thoroughly and comprehensively engrossing right from beginning till end (although being a lengthy movie for 3 hours and 40 minutes)
Scene of the day: When Anil Kapoor meets Priyanka Chopra in a Bar at 2AM and a short discussion makes them realize the real meaning of life to both of them (the scene reminded me a similar short scene of Sanjeev Kumar and Jaya Bhaduri in SlLSILAY discussing about their spouses.)
